The Physics of Life Summer Research Experience for Teachers (RET)

A high school physics, chemistry or biology teacher will come into CPLC labs for six weeks during the summer of 2011 to participate in authentic research in one of the following areas:

1. Protein folding in living cells

2. Molecular Motors (e.g. proteins like Kinesin, Myosin, ATP Synthase, the flagellar motor, etc.)

3. Fast DNA sequencing using graphene nanopores

This teacher will also participate in The Physics of Life Summer School (see description here) in order to translate their research experience into engaging lessons and labs for their classroom. Download the Physics of Life Summer School & RET flyer.

A stipend of $3,250 for 6 weeks and CPDUs will be provided for the RET recipient.
